Heavy Vehicle Courses

LIGHT RIGID
Any 2 axle rigid vehicle including trucks and buses greater than 8 tonnes GVM (may tow a trailer no more than 9 tonnes).

Minimum age: 19 years
You must have held a car licence for at least one year, and a learners licence is not required.

MEDIUM RIGID
Any 2 axle rigid vehicle including trucks and buses greater than 8 tonnes GVM (may tow a trailer no more than 9 tonnes).

Minimum age: 19 years
You must have held a car licence for at least one year, and a learners licence is not required.

HEAVY RIGID
Any rigid vehicle with 3 or more axles including trucks and buses greater than 8 tonnes GVM (and may tow a trailer no more than 9 tonnes).

Minimum age: 20 years
You must have held a car licence for a minimum of 2 years.

HEAVY COMBINATION
A heavy combination vehicle is classed as a prime mover and single semi trailer, or heavy rigid greater than 9 tonnes GVM.

Minimum age: 20 years
You must have held a full heavy rigid licence for at least 12 months.

MULTI COMBINATION
A heavy combination vehicle is classed as a A prime mover and one or more trailer, or heavy rigid greater than 9 tonnes GVM.

Minimum age: 21 years
You must have held a full heavy combination licence for at least 12 months, and have completed a Medical Health Check.
